Apple Watch X: New Design, Magnetic Bands, and Health Features

Apple is reported to be planning a massive makeover of its smartwatch range this year, with the forthcoming Apple Watch set to have a totally new look, additional health monitoring functions, and a redesigned band connection method.

Mark Gurman says that the firm may abandon the customary naming strategy and title the next gadget “Apple Watch X” to mark the 10th anniversary of the first Apple Watch, which debuted in 2014.

The renderings indicate a smaller design for the Watch X, maybe 10-15% thinner than current versions. The Digital Crown is anticipated to stay, with the potential of an extra Action Button akin to the Apple Watch Ultra.

The most significant design change might be the new magnetic band system. This would mean saying goodbye to compatibility with previous bands, but it has advantages beyond appearance. The existing band system occupies valuable space within the watch. Magnetic bands minimize this bulk, perhaps allowing for a slimmer design with more functionality crammed within.

While microLED screens were previously mentioned, OLED technology seems more feasible owing to cost reasons. However, the new OLED panel is intended to be brighter and more energy efficient. This might lead to longer battery life, which has long been a worry among users.

Health functions have always been a key component of the Apple Watch. The Watch X might be the first to provide blood pressure monitoring, although blood oxygen monitoring remains questionable owing to current patent battles. The watch may also include sleep apnea monitoring.

It’s important to understand that this information is based on rumors and leaks. While some forecasts may come true, it is best to approach them with skepticism. Stay tuned for further developments.
